After taking a couple years off from hiking 14ers due to a massive landscape project at the house, finally got back out there and took on Mount Antero. Camped near the trailhead and in the morning, drove the Jeep up the West Slopes II trail from the Baldwin Gulch trailhead and parked around 12,000 feet.
Mt Antero is known for gems which gives the mountain a little sparkle. There were many people along the hike searching for gems as there are still many to find.
Gunner actually sat still for a photo on the ridge as we were getting close to the top.
And…this is the face of a tired lab looks like after he hikes the 14er about 20 times with all of the up and back.
